This spaceship-looking package, winner of the Best Way to Get an Editor's Attention award, showed up this week, with scissor doors like a Lamborghini that actually lit up when I opened them. Okay, you have my attention. Inside were an equally cool pair of Adidas's new H3LIUM ZXZs, their answer to the lightweight-running-shoe obsession that has lines forming outside sporting-goods stores everywhere.
While I could live without the corny name, these kicks are perfomance-driven enough to get me to the gym, but not so tricked-out that they venture into Spider-Man costume territory. They're available on shopadidas.com starting today, and hit stores in all nine colorways on December 26th. Unfortunately, the space-pod packaging is not included, but you'd toss it as soon as the battery died anyway, so just slide on your sneaks, get off your ass, and run.
