We know it's early, but in the GQ offices it's never too early to start thinking about next season's checklist of must-have trends and pieces that are going to breathe a bit of life into our wardrobe of basics. It already appears that there's a good chance this list could be completed with a single trip to our pals at Banana Republic in September. On Wednesday evening the brand unveiled their fall and holiday 2012 collections, built around sartorial staples like double-breasted topcoats, pinstripes and three-piece suits. The silhouette was trim and tailored, visually lengthened by the use of chelsea boots in each look. Other standouts were touches of mustard yellow, cargo pants rendered in soft wool, and of course the color that's going to dominate the latter half of the year: burgundy.
