Finalists on American Idol will have a new style coach come March 15th, one who knows a thing or two about perfecting that pop/prep look: Tommy Hilfiger. Hilfiger will serve as image advisor for the budding talents as they duke it out for the top spot, guiding contestant's style transformations and nixing any potentially hazardous notions. The man himself hit us with the below info on his new primetime role.
"I was approached to join the show to mentor, and support contestants in discovering their personal style. I'll be advising contestants on creating an image that complements their music, using my experience as a fashion designer to help them identify, and enhance their style. You need the complete package: talent, image, attitude! I think people underestimate how the right style, and clothing can give musicians a new self-confidence in their performance. I am honored to be part of the American Idol family, and have the opportunity to support young talent."
Spoken like a true Idol. Kind of a fresh reason to check out Fox next week.
