Now that I've been writing this watch column for a few months, I get requests from readers who, for some reason, continue on from The Style Blog and track me down on Tumblr. "Immortal" reprezintă, totodată, coloana sonoră a spectacolului "The Immortal World Tour", show-ul realizat de compania Cirque du Soleil sub forma unui omagiu adus muzicii şi vieţii megastarului, care a avut premiera duminică seară, la Montreal. Acest spectacol va porni în curând într-un turneu prin America de Nord, unde va fi jucat pe parcursul următoarelor 10 luni.
Michael Jackson a murit pe 25 iunie 2009, într-o perioadă de repetiţii intense pentru "This Is It Tour", turneul său de adio, în timpul căruia urma să susţină, începând din iulie 2009, 50 de concerte la sala O2 Arena din Londra.
Medicul său personal din acea perioadă, Conrad Murray, a recunoscut că i-a administrat starului propofol, în dimineaţa zilei în care acesta a murit, dar şi în săptămânile care au precedat decesul.
În cazul în care va fi condamnat, medicul Conrad Murray, acuzat de ucidere involuntară, riscă o pedeapsă de până la patru ani de închisoare şi pierderea dreptului de a practica medicina. În prezent, doctorul în vârstă de 58 de ani este eliberat pe cauţiune, după ce a fost pus sub acuzare în februarie 2010.
