Now's about time to stock up on plaid shirts, new cardigans, and light jackets — the better for layering — so you'd be wise to check out the new line, R44 Rogan Standard Issue, which launches exclusively at Nordstrom this week. Designed by Rogan Gregory and Scott Mackinlay Hahn, the clothes combine the minimalism that Rogan's namesake label is known for with the organic and natural spirit that's defined Loomstate, another brand these two men have worked on before. Sustainable clothing is always a tricky topic: all those pricey materiels mixed with the generally better-than-thou factor. Luckily, these clothes are neither too expensive nor too loud; they quietly tow the line of looking nice while not screaming "eco-friendly," perhaps because their design is drawn from Rogan's own collection of vintage military and workwear pieces — all of which were created when our air was cleaner, yet no one was freaking out about it.
'Echo at Ease' trim fit plaid shirt ($99), 'Kilo' trim fit organic cotton cardigan ($89.50), Uniform jacket ($139), all by R44, nordstrom.com
