We first noticed what you might call a "moment" last summer, when designers showed their spring collections (in stores now) throughout Paris, Milan, and New York — and we couldn't stop looking down at the models' feet. You see, many of the traditional shoes had been updated with neon soles, electric suedes, and all sorts of colorful accents that made it clear, almost instantly, that Spring 2012 would be all about updating your footwear game with pairs that were anything but (just) brown or black. So, whether that's a pair of bright green suede derbys, a blue-and-red color-blocked boat shoe, or even a technicolor saddle shoe that's been elevated from it's traditional feel, let's all get to it.
