Prince reminded us why he's one of the last great entertainers in this business—turning back the clock as he always does—dashing around the stage, playing every instrument in sight, and directing crowd traffic while reveling in his domination. After several songs (including his band's rendition of Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough"), he came out for an encore of "Purple Rain" that kept everyone on their feet, before bowing out, and urging everyone, as Minaj had, to pay homage to Versace. And pay it they did, with their credit cards, as the fresh product flew off the racks. Mark Ronson cruised by in an all-pink suit, Thurman scampered out shoeless after cutting a rug, we scored the last beer in the entire place, and tipped it back, taking in the scene. It was impressive, it was a party. It was Versace.
