Johan Lindeberg's NYC-based BLK DNM announced their first foray into the fragrance game yesterday evening at Art Basel in Miami. The scent Perfume 11, is named for 2011, which marked the launch of the BLK DNM brand; it's unisex, versatile, and inspired by Lindeberg's own tastes (read: downtown NYC edge meets Parisian chic), as well as fond memories of the ladies in his life. Lindeberg tells the Eye:
"While some brands wait years to launch a perfume, I felt like now was the right time. This year is special: it has been tumultuous and full of revolution and energy. It feels like the new 1968, when new values were being created all over the world. The scent, like everything BLK DNM, is about freedom of expression. Art Basel Miami seemed like the right place to introduce it since it's an interdisciplinary creative hub and full of energy"
BLK DNM held a party last night to celebrate Perfume 11's launch, which took place at the concept shop at the Webster. It will be available there, in BLK DNM's NYC shop at 237 Lafayette Street in SoHo, and online at BLKDNM.com. $125.
